In honor of the Winter Olympics, the next few baby names I highlight will be names that mean either victory or champion. The baby name Victor is of Latin origin. It also has significance for Catholics.

The baby name Victor has been a very popular one since the Social Security Administration started tracking baby names in 1880, when the baby name ranked #136. That is actually the lowest ranking the baby name has had. The baby name Victor is frequently in the Top 100, occasionally dropping down to the 110’s or 120’s.
