John Barrowman (Science Fiction Star) Wants to Adopt
I love the British TV Show, Torchwood. I have watched it on BBC America and SciFi Channel. So when I came across this article, I knew who John Barrowman is. He plays Captain Jack Harkness. The Captain strikes me as having many similarities to Captain Jack Sparrow. But Harkness does have a much stronger set of morals then Sparrow.
Anyway.. back to the adoption part. Barrowman is gay and in a settled relationship. He and his SO are building a house and talking about building a family via surrogacy or adoption. And if they adopt, they will do so in England. And Barrowman is interested in adopting teenagers. Good for him.
Katie Price and Peter André Adopting
I had to look up Katie Price and Peter André. I didn't have a clue why there were celebrities. Katie is a "glamour model" and "television personality". Peter is a song writer and "television personality". They are both "reality TV" stars.
Anywho... They saw a documentary, Bulgaria's Abandoned Children, and were emotionally impacted by the need for for special needs parents. They are already special needs parents. Their son has septo-optic dysplasia.
Adult Adoption Annulled
This relates to an adult adoption court case. Was it legal for Olive Watson to adopt Patricia Spado (her lover) in Maine in 1991?
Answer: No
Their relationship was long-term... 14 years. However it ended about a year after the adoption. But that doesn't really have any bearing on the case.
Reason why this adult adoption case was so important? Patricia claimed money from her adopted grandfather's (Watson's father) estate in 2005. I am assume we are talking about millions of dollars in the estate. And the other "grandchildren" fought Patricia's claim and at this point have won.
DeMarcus and Taniqua Ware Adopt (football player)
Dallas Cowboys player, DeMarcus Ware, has a new baby.
DeMarcus and his wife Taniqua adopted a baby girl. The parents are black and the child is white.
Brangelina To Adopt Another Boy?
This is a huge pile of fluffy nothing... And I feel stupid for even posting it. Actually I am having second thoughts now... sigh...
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are thinking about adopting a boy from Ethiopia. And they would probably adopt from the same orphanage that Zahara lived at. And Julie Neal Pitt (Brad's sister) is thinking about adopting from Ethiopia too.
Big hairy deal..
Does DFCS quota culture put young lives at risk?
Opinion piece talks about the death of 16-month-old Amiya Brown. Amiya was at the hospital due to "two fractured limbs". CPS was called and they decided to let the child go home with her parents. Nine days later Amiya was dead.
The writer of this piece believes this is a clear case.. that anyone doing a basic risk assessment would see a clear and present danger to the child. Georgia's CPS screwed up and a child died.
Crawford's daughter attacks trend for celebrity adoptions
One of the first children to be adopted by a Hollywood star has condemned the trend for celebrity adoptions as a publicity-seeking exercise with 'profound medical and psychological effects'
Molly Sims Supports Orphanage In Mexico
I had to look up Molly Sims. She has started in a couple of movies that I didn't watch. She is in the upcoming The Pink Panther Deux which my daughter really, really wants to see. So I guess this summer I will watch Molly Sims' actiing.
Anyway.... Molly is supporting a Mexican orphanage named El Faro Orphanage. The orphanage started with about 40 kids and has grown to over 100.
Laughing It Away (Marie Osmond)
This piece includes a bunch of different bits of information. It discusses her fainting on TV (Dancing With The Stars). Briefly mentions her 16 year old son, Michael, who recently entered drug rehab. Here is an interesting quote...
Marie admitted that he may have some issues about being an adopted child but declined to comment any more about him.
The frame for the article was Marie's coping methods. She will laugh before she will cry. And this year she had a lot of cry about; divorce, death and drug rehab.
