Scotland Adoption Statistics
Here are some statistics about adoption within Scotland

| 2006 | 418 |
Over 50% of the 2006 adoptions were stepparent adoption. The remaining adoptions were from foster care.
On any giving day there are over 4,000 children in 3,200 foster homes. May 2008, there were 14,060 children with open cases. This is an 8% increase over 2006. And approximately 400 children are looking for adoption placement. But only 200 children will get adoption placement.
