They come without an attitude?

In reply to Adopted Child with an Attitude:

I had no idea that you could get an adopted child without an attitude. Its not nice having a teenager, particularly when they are nine. Just as well you couldn't hear his comment, bet it was a zingger.

But neither is adoption over at 19. 19 year olds are still not at end level proficiency in making large decisions, particularly emotional ones. The adoptive parents should not be relegated to dottering old fool status. Birth parents do not become wonderful dependable people just because the child reached 19.

Starbucks, not Moulson.

This justifies that the population is growing. It is indeed an evidence that people keep on growing into large number.I kept on wondering how God created the universe and the people. It's a miracle! But sad to say that some of us had already forget about God.There are many religions that arises and that creates a different scenario on our belief in God.

In reply to More Open Birth Records in Canada:

Not a good idea. It means that every birth parent, even the ones that had their rights terminated for cause, have the right to track down the child. The adoptive parents know what the child had to live through, yet they are reclassified as Eunuchs by the government. The child should have the right to do the search, but there is no way the birth parents should be given the information to do the search. The adoptive parents definately need to be a part of this, a child being contacted out of the blue is not in a good spot to make contact decisions.

This relegates adoption to just a long term baby sitting service that ends at 19. It may seem great to parents who have done an infant adoption, it is not great for those of us that adopted from foster care. Our kids paid a high enough price to have the 'privilege' of having abusive birth parents. It doesnt need to start again. Coffee, not beer.

In reply to 2005 Statistics on African American Children in Foster Care System:

That was the solution of the Black Social Workers Association in the 1980s. They almost totally stopped transracial placements. Black families did not step forward in greater numbers to adopt black children. The result was a very large number of black children, particularly boys, who rotted in the system until 18 and then made the painful journey to homelessness or jail. What is your solution if blacks won't consider adoption a viable alternative? Do the kids rot and have their lives ruined, or do we get families for them, families that want them, even if they are terrible icky white people?

I could. It wasn't the child's fault, but it's so sad nontheless. Especially explaining it to the child when they are old enough

How can a person do that?

In reply to The Thought of Putting My Daughter in the Public School System Makes Me Sick(er):

It has to be so hard to decide what to do. If you know yourself and know you probably won't be the best teacher for your child, you know what you have to do. I have one in public school and one in 0n-line school. I homeschooled him until this year (10th grade) and then we went with Wilostar3d on-line school. It is very hard to find on a search on the internet, but Janet Hale, the founder, is awesome. It has a lot of 3d graphics and makes it feel as and look as if you are actually sitting in class with all the rest of the 10th graders! They teach k-12 and you get a diploma upon graduation. The link is http://www.wilostar3d.com/default.asp?iId=HILHG. It is really great ... take a look!
and good luck to you!
