Guess I voted that it HAS changed the adoption thinking process for us, but not necessarily stopped it. Knowing more now that dh's job is shakier than before, it gives more cause to consider if this is a smart move. Still, we just re-fi'ed our home mortgage and took some cash out to help in the adoption finances. We're pretty well 'set' for this money-----as long as something more dire doesn't occur. (And I realize, it could. (sigh) )
As I look at adoption fees every day, I'm finding that once again, fees are raising! What is UP with this!?!?!?!!?!? It's ridiculous to read the amounts of monies agencies/attorneys/faciliators are asking for situations...not to mention some of the criteria!!!! I have to wonder if these adoption entities are struggling enough that they're asking more $$ for each situation, instead of planning for a set number of adoptions? Hmmmmm....makes you wonder; and it certainly doesn't make me feel any better about it.
Sincerely,
Linny
