Not only does my sweet 26 month old toddler nap, he usually naps about 2-3 hours at a shot! What a relief!

Submitted by Linny on Sat, 07/19/2008 - 23:34.

When I was in my 20's with our first children, I remember I did a lot of extra work when the 'babies' were napping. (I used to wallpaper the house, and heaven knows, can't remember much else!?!?! :) )

But now, having three little ones and I'm 51.....I realize the benefit of taking a nap with them! While there are those who'd say, 'this is my time to have to myself'.....I find that if I actually lay down with them......(the baby cradled in my arm), and the other two laying on the bed as well.......they ALL (more often than not) sleep very soundly.
I think napping with one's children is beneficial for bonding---regardless of the age of the child (infant or otherwise). And, it DOES help for those times when we adults NEED that extra hour or two of sleep!!

Sincerely,

Linny
